AfiLab Malfunctions Report

Malfunctions with AfiLabs affect the accuracy of the data they provide to AfiFarm, and may, as a result, delay users from taking steps to address health and feeding problems.

Red - Indicates a fault in the most recently ended session.

Yellow - Indicates faults that occurred in one of the previous sessions, but not the last sessions that ended.

Green - Indicates no faults occurred.

The upper table in the report lists the AfiLab devices and displays the type of fault detected, as follows:

Column

Description

Stall

Displays the stall number; stalls with the most recent faults are listed first in the table.

Milked

Displays the number of cows milked in the stall during the milking session.

Data Collection

Fault symbol indicates AfiLab failure to provide valid data for one or more cows. Possible causes include communication and/or measuring issues.

Accuracy

Fault symbol indicates that the AfiLab measurements for the cows milked through it do not meet expectations.

In a single stall this suggests the AfiLab device is malfunctioning and should be replaced. When accuracy is faulty across multiple stalls, the system requires calibration.

In the example at right, an AfiLab Accuracy fault is indicated for Stall 18 and Stall 27. The fault icon for Stall 27 is yellow, indicating the fault is no longer detected, while the fault for stall 18 occurred in the two most recently finished sessions, suggesting the fault remains.

Note: Milk is measured for Fat, Protein, and Lactose. If all component measurements are faulty, the specific AfiLab device must be replaced. If only Lactose measurements are faulty a problem exists with cleanliness and the AfiLab device should be cleaned.

Lower detailed report: Clicking on a row in the top table allows you to identify which measurement (Fat, Protein, and/or Lactose) was faulty in the selected milking point. The detailed report also shows the persistency of the fault per session, for the last six sessions. Faulty Fat, Protein and Lactose measurements in a specific AfiLab indicates a problem with the device. Faults with only the Lactose measurements usually indicate a wash problem.
